The tips are angled inward to securely hold the ring with a downward pressure, preventing the ring from slipping off.

The tips are hardened to 47–53 HRC, the jaws are hardened to 37–43 HRC.

Hardened for Strength

The tips and jaws are made from two different materials, each optimized for its function. Hardened bearing steel is used for the tips to enhance shear strength.

Crimped-In Cylindrical Tips

Spring-Loaded, Bolted Joint

The two forged handles are permanently bolted together and spring-loaded. The spring is oiled and housed inside the joint, keeping it hidden and protected while providing smooth, quiet operation.
